Once upon a time, a devoted mother lived with her eight sons. One day, while the children played near a well, a lion attacked and snatched all her sons. Distraught, she prayed to Ahoi Mata, dedicating her fasting and devotion to bring back their well-being.
A sage advised her to observe Ahoi Ashtami Vrat with complete faith and perform the ritual with the image of Ahoi Mata and the lion. The mother followed all rites sincerely, and Ahoi Mata blessed her with peace and prosperity.
Today, mothers across India observe this vrat so that their children stay protected, healthy, and happy throughout life.
